If you’ve read anything on the site, you will know that my name is Bronwyn. I am in the sunset of my twenties and have been married since 2006. I’m not into child trafficking but we bought our firstborn in 2007. She’s a Labrador crossed with a Ridgeback and was only acknowledged as a dog when my son arrived last year.

I studied a Bachelors of Education at Stellenbosch University and thereafter taught for five years. What a great profession! I love teaching! It’s a pity about the “office job” you get as a side order when you become a teacher! But still, there is nothing better than assisting in the acquisition of knowledge! That’s probably why I’m enjoying being a SAHM (Stay at Home Mom- we’re soon going to get rid of language and just speak acronym).

My husband, who seems to master anything he looks at, is a website guru and suggested he use some of his talents on me. He advised me to start this blog because I’m always looking for knowledge to help me out, so why not post it somewhere to help you out?

Below are some of the people who help me out…here are their stories:

It is great to be a part of this website created by Bronwyn and to share experiences that are often so similar to many others who have entered into the world of motherhood.

I matriculated in Gauteng, many years ago and went on to get a BA and HDE, I am very grateful for the time I had teaching (mostly high school children) as it made me so aware of the importance of the foundation years of a child’s life, and that many times a teenager who challenged structure and discipline lacked something in those earlier years.

For me this has been a blessing and a curse with my 3 children all in that foundation phase of 0-6 years. It has been a blessing in that I have taken very seriously the need to stimulate and do all that’s needed to create a wholesome child who is physically, spiritually, mentally and emotionally capable and well adapted. It has also been a curse for me as all the information learned through study and experience cannot prepare you for the nature your child will have and how you will have to adapt stimuli and discipline for each soul.

It is great to be a part of this site that allows us all from different backgrounds and experiences to share our moments of achievement and advice as that may just be what someone else needs to get through a tricky situation.

Apart from the children, I have a great love for reading and certain crafts but have felt the need to focus on the rearing of my children for the next few years until “this too shall pass” and I will have time to pursue many other dreams and goals once the children are at school, for now I have a great desire to teach all that I can so that they won’t grow up to be like some of those teenagers who gave me a run for my money when I was teaching at the local school and college!

We are in this together, we all have children and can all relate to good days and bad days, so enjoy the site as we share that together!
