I can absolutely second that feeling of "where has the time gone"? I had my daughters at a young age, I was 19 & 22 when I got pregnant.

At that stage I was still adapting to married life, starting a career & studying part time. Really feels as though I missed my children's baby stages.

Now, at 35 with two young teenage girls, we are planning to try for a little brother. I'm SO excited!

I am much better prepared to enjoy every moment! ;-)

The indoor play centers are indeed a saving grace on bad weather days!! They also cater for kids parties and we had a super Ben Ten themed party at Kidz@TheMall - I did not even had to lift one finger.
Helderberg Farm is fantastic with lots of outdoorsy stuff to do for children, they absolutely love the animal feeding.

I am currently 17 weeks pregnant with my first child. Naturally there is a lot of fear of birth, of parenthood precisely because it is unknown to me.

All the opinions here are helping me navigate the overwhelming amount of (contradictory) information available.

I'd find it really useful if you all would share what resources you found most helpful in forming your own opinions.

This is such a lovely post, I am trying to look like I am not crying, very tricky in an open plan office where my two colleagues sit less than 3 metres from my nose and look at me as they work.

Really heart warming post!

I knew from early on that I would need a c-section - placenta previa and all that (low lying placenta - my daughter was using it as a pillow instead of a foot stool)...

but at around 32 weeks my doc said that it looked as though the placenta had moved up slightly, so if I wanted to, we could entertain the idea of natural. By this stage I had researched everything about ceasarians... from complications to expected reactions to how its done etc, etc... and I said to him - If you still think that the big C is the way to go, then lets do that...

Turns out it was the right thing after all. When doing the C-section, and handing me my beautiful baby girl, all the doc said was "I'm so glad you didn't go natural, this placenta was a lot lower than it looked"... So I would have gone into labour and well, the complications with a low lying placenta are rather large (I'm sure you know what happens if the placenta pulls loose before the baby is out...), I would have ended up having an emergency ceasar anyways.

I must say - i wouldn't recommend a ceasar. It certainly wasn't the most fun I've had... not for weeks - and being on pain medication for weeks after... Not enjoyable.

But, I look at my beautiful girl and I couldn't be more happy to be a mom. She is the most precious creature - regardless of how she entered this world. And, thankfully, all I have to remind me of the birth are a few stretch marks and a small scar...

hi ladies,
I am jumping the gun a bit - am Mom of a healthy 15 months old, natural drug free birth - would love to do it all over again and was very happy with the birth experience.

Is it possible in SA to deliver twins naturally or are you usually "pushed" towards Cesarean?
Anyone has some experience?
