Blogging Jogging: Exercise at the Computer.

The Husband received this email and thought it appropriate for all you blogger friends. I thought it funny at first but now as I sit here, I can do a few butt clenches and tummy tucks. You never know, blogging could be the cause of a healthier, thinner me!
“The exercises below have been adapted from [...]

WARNING:Not for Those Already Feeling Emotional!

I’m not a tree hugger, a granola chick or one who is one with nature. I do however love being outdoors, I pick up litter even if it’s not mine and cry if the lion attacks one of the little guys no matter how many times my husband says, “but it’s nature”. Sometimes I don’t [...]

Helderberg Fun

These are some activities which I have enjoyed with my little Rooster and his friends in the Helderberg Area and will hopefully update regularly as Rooster and I go on adventures.
The Helderberg Farm
This lovely picnic, petting zoo is just outside of Somerset West on the R44 going towards Stellenbosch (directions to Helderberg Farm). There is [...]

Green Day Lunch

My husband works in hospitals and is up even before my little rooster. I cook good old Jungle Oats (even though as a teenie-bopper I promised I’d never feed it to my kids) in the morning and send hubbie off with his share in a tupperware. Today while I was washing out husband’s breakfast tupperware [...]

Stuck Between a Cloud and a Soft Place.

Yesterday it was raining here in the fair Cape and so I thought introducing my little munchkin to an indoor play park would be amusing for him. This outing was not as succcessful as I had hoped seeing as I came away doubting my mothering. Once again, when faced with the mothering of other mothers, [...]

Turning Three!

I have been blessed with three children, their ages are fairly close together and I am currently in the final stages of my third child’s baby phase. He turns 3 on Sunday- Valentine’s day and he is a true valentine, sweeping us off our feet with his ways!
As he approaches three though, I cannot help [...]

Break Time!

Break time at school: the one thing most children go to school for. Just when the day’s getting boring or long or you can’t fight the hunger any longer, the break bell goes and you’re free from the confines of the classroom. Now, what if second break was canceled? How would the children and teachers [...]

Motherly Murmurs

I attend a music class every Wednesday morning for my little munchkin. It’s loads of fun for us both. It means interaction for him: stimulus through music and movement as well as interaction with others (even if it be seeing how another child responds when a tambourine is thrown at them by another class member) [...]

Birthday Bus

If you have read the previous post “What I’ve learned in a Year” you would see that my little pumpkin turned one recently. My husband I had so much fun with his cake. We had the typical surgeon-nurse situation where I would do the preparation for the op with all the implements and equipment, and [...]

Beat and Bake Sponge Cake

This recipe my mother has used for years and many relatives of mine. It seems to be pretty flop proof which is what every baker wants!

1cup sugar
2 eggs
Then add:
1 1/2 cups of flour
